Ground up oatmeal + defrosted breast milk= Baby is not impressed
Today is the big day. Tidus had his first "solids". It is not really solid, more like liquid with a tiny bit of non liquid added in somewhere. The only reason I tried Tidus with eating solids was because he is getting close to 6 months old so I thought I would give it a try.
Tidus is the complete opposite of Ted when it comes to food. Ted started eating solids about 5 months old and he completely took to it. I held the spoon up to Ted's mouth and he opened right up and ate his food. Ted has always been a go with the flow kid.
Tidus, on the other hand, gave that spoon a look like, umm what do you expect me to do with that? I pushed the spoon into his mouth and he tilted his head with a grimace. Tidus still ate all the food I gave him which is really impressive since you would think his sucking reflex would push the food back out.
It was pretty funny. Throughout the entire feeding I felt like Tidus was just putting up with me until I stopped bothering him. Then afterwards he made such a fuss over wanting to nurse. Where Ted was the laid back baby, Tidus has always been the I-know-what-I-want baby.
I do not want to sit in this chair and eat that slop. I want to lounge on my boppy pillow and drink milk until I pass out.
Can't say I blame him...
While I have been typing this Ted is making ice cream cones with his legos. He brought out three cones and said they were for all of us.
Me: Mmm yum! What is this flavor? (pointing to the purple)
Ted: that's purple
Me: Yum purple flavor! What flavor is this? (pointing to the orange)
Ted: That's orange
Me: Oo orange flavor! And what is this? (pointing to the last cone)
Ted: That's mine
